Some relatives attended the National Ploughing Championships taking place from September 24th to 26th September 2013 at Ratheniska, County Laois then continued down to Wexford for a few days. Of course they were roped into the house move. While down they were looking at cars one potential purchase was located at the Nissan — Wexford Car Centre at Ardcavan, Wexford. I admired the intended vehicle then wandered around the yard. A blue Nissan logo caught my eye. The usual standard silver car logo is blue on the Nissan leaf electric car.
I set off to find the electricity charger. There it was! Enter the Nissan gate & it’s on the left near the car pound gate tucked into the foliage. The Letters DBT & magic marker style icon of a small car and pump with plug instead of nozzle marks the spot.
The function of the device is confirmed with a metal signage on the side of the unit, affirming this is a ‘Quick charger for electric vehicles’. A leader in electric vehicles charging solutions since 1992, French company, DBT-CEV is involved in some of the most innovative electric vehicle charging projects.

Using the Charger seems fairly self explanatory.
The Nissan logo that distracted me. I’ve read it is covered in a non removable protective blue plastic, giving the usual silver its blue hue. The colour range for the Nissan leaf is limited to Pearl White, Super Black, Cayenne Red, Brilliant Silver, Metallic Slate, Glacier White & Blue Ocean. the majority of Leaf released have the blue logo including the red. You can play with changing the colours and moving around the leaf here: nissanusa.com/electric-cars/leaf/colors-photos/

Zero Emissions logo. Visually I find the typeface used rather ugly. To my mind forced and inappropriate for a zero emissions, 21st Century product. The type style is more reminiscent of 1970’s space age typeface. I recognise the intention is have the main text contrast with the round lowercase E. The back tilt of the E suggests an electrical power switch. Incidentally, strictly speaking only where electric chargers are providing electricity fueled by hydro or wind power are the cars really zero emission.
Zero switched ON
I like the E
It was a wet week as you an see from the dried watermarks on the logo detail
